There was a senior that I danced with that asked me if I had any interest in fraternity and sorority life and I said no. And then she went on to further explain to me what zeta was and I went to the info session to check it out and then went to all the recruitment events and really liked everyone I met so I kinda just kept on from there
What are you involved in on campus besides Zeta?
I’m president of Emerson Dance Company and I’m a choreographer and dancer in it as well
I’ve written for Emertainment Monthly and I was on roll-in crew for the EVVYs
How do you think Zeta has helped you professionally and personally?
I think the biggest thing it gave me was confidence when I’m walking into a room full of people. I’m not a good public speaker and I’m not comfortable with public speaking and I think it gave me a more confident way of handling myself when I’m talking to other people. Socially, it provided a new network and new people I knew I could rely on and I feel like that’s kind of hard at Emerson.
What are you the most proud of out of your time at Emerson?
I think two things. One is that I’ve been able to start choreographing. I was really nervous to do that and then I did it my sophomore year and I was really proud of that, and I’m still doing it. My other thing has just been learning to balance multiple things. Like when I tell my family about the things I’m doing they don’t know how I’m alive, because between EDC and Zeta and working a job that I’m now working like almost every day it’s just a lot, but I’m really proud of being able to somewhat balance that. And classes. We forget about classes sometimes.
What would you like to do in the future?
That’s a tough question. There are so many things that it’s hard because I just love the entertainment industry and I know I want to work in that or an entertainment company. I love screenwriting, if I could do writing for TV I would 100% do that, but I would also work for a live show. I love live shows, I love the intensity that they have of being in the moment. There’s no hours of pre and post production, it’s just like whatever happens happens and you just have to deal with it.
If you had a message to get someone through the day what would it be?
Aside from breathe, I would say most things are temporary, so try to get the best out of them.
I'm busy working on my blog posts. Watch this space!
